During his early years as a skilled carpenter, Petty noticed a common flaw in the construction industry. Too often, builders were penny-wise and pound-foolish. Blueprints off by an inch were overlooked. Unauthorized substitutions were made with respect to scarce materials and time-consuming detail. This short-cut philosophy cost clients sleep, satisfaction, and hard-earned dollars for repair and replacement. Michael found such widespread casualness unacceptable. He set out to create a new philosophy for creating outstanding homes, and a complete system to support it.
As sole owner, Petty has assembled a dedicated team of employees, suppliers and subcontractors who share his commitment to quality and excellence. His staff is people oriented. They realize that pleasing the eventual homeowner requires more than simply building a comfortable home. It requires delivering that home on time and on budget. To assist with budgeting, Quest is fully computerized, able to estimate, schedule, specify and track construction progress accurately. Quest also self-performs a large percentage of construction including grading, framing, roofing, siding, trim carpentry, staircases of all types, cabinetry, and painting. The in-housing of these tasks ensures quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and saves our clients money and time.
